Household

All households contribute to the environmental stress of the Baltic Sea. Products, chemicals, wastewater, heating emissions we use, produce and throw away are all sources of hazardous substances and nutrients that affect the environment. Emissions and discharge might be small but they all add up and reducing household related waste would greatly benefit the state of the Baltic Sea. In this section we have included alternatives to phosphorous substances in dishwashing, laundry and bleach detergents; treatment of wastewater from small domestic sources and the treatment of gas emissions from small scale combustion devices such as stoves and heating appliances.
In this section you will find:
Alternatives to phosporous substances, reduction of hazardous substances in small scale combustion and small scale treatment of domestic sewage.
